FACEBOOK IS CONSIDERING installing a ‘dislike’ button, if founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is to be believed.
Back in October, the creator of the ‘like’ button Bret Taylor said there would never be a ‘dislike’ option, but Zuckerberg appears to think it might not be such a bad idea.
During one of the company’s famous Townhall Q&A meetings at Facebook HQ, he was asked if they would ever consider installing a ‘dislike’ button.
He said that yes, they were considering it, as there are indeed more sentiments people want to express than “just positivity”:
BUT, and here’s what might disappoint many people – Zuckerberg was quick to stress that any ‘dislike’ button installed would ultimately be a positive “force for good” and not a way of “demeaning the post”.
Guess we’re just going to have to keep our crazy opinions on the poor spelling, bragging and endless baby photos to ourselves, then.
